Today is the birthday of Rachel. Leo, Rachel's nephew, mon nouvel amour helped wrap a gift.
Leo is two and comes to visit his grandmother Marie (Mammi) eachThursday morning.
When I heard the the little feet of Leo upstairs above our apartment I told Alec we must go visit.
Finally we ate les galettes at the Café Breton, crépes without sugar and even Alec enjoyed the crépes with ham. Les Crépes are for dessert.
I discovered la tarte superbe, (plum pie). Alec learned the difference between a patisserie and a boulangerie, the latter includes bread and the former chocolate, pies and delicacies. He also learned how to ask en français "may I have a piece of chocolate?" He is eager to learn such phrases and quickly remembers.
Walking around the city of Metz is
like stepping back in time.
Windows with carving such
as this are from the middle ages.
Soon I will take Alec to le musée de
metz where he will stand upon
the Roman Aqueduct.
